Programs
Learn more about the different educational classes we offer, which range from a wide variety of rich art and coding workshops. All lessons are accessible to students from different backgrounds or learning styles. Our incredible volunteers are always available to help students in any way they can.
Art programs

Traditional Art Lessons
These hands-on, encouraging classes teach students the foundational mediums of art such as graphite, colored pencil, and acrylic paint. Students draw from a colorful still-life and practice designing their own compositions by drawing inspiration right from real life.
May require additional items such as acrylic paint from the host.

Portrait Drawing Lessons
Using graphite, students will learn the fundamentals of facial proportions and anatomy to sketch a self portrait. After being taught basic shading, students will have the option to add creative elements into their piece to customize their portraits.
May require additional items such as pencils, erasers, and mirrors from the host.

Procreate Basics Lessons
By teaching the basics of the digital art and animation program, Procreate, students are able to create their own unique projects, as well as bring their drawings to life. With helpful techniques, such as Alpha Lock and frame settings, students are able to advance much faster with digital art through this class.

Coding programs

Scratch Coding Lessons
In these lessons, students learn to animate on Scratch, as well as design various games such as rocket launching, ping-pong, and mouse clicker games. Students can experiment and explore their creativity with coding and art to enhance their projects.

Python Coding Lessons
In this class, students learn how to code different programs using Python through the Trinket website. They can create custom quizzes that respond to user input and design visual outputs using Turtle and other variables.
May require items such as computers or tablets from the host.

Website Development Lessons
After learning the HTML and C++ languages on CodePen, students can design their own website and add fun elements like unique text, images, and links. Students will be able to combine languages and create a custom webpage about a fun topic.

Crafts

Origami Lessons
Using origami paper, students will make various crafts such as paper butterflies and stars by learning fundamental folding techniques.

Knitting Lessons
In this class for both new and experienced knitters, students will create beautiful scarves and hats. By learning how to knit multiple types of stitches and learning how to read patterns, students will take valuable skills and knowledge from this program to use in the future.

Bookmark Making Lessons
Students will design bookmarks on Procreate, which will be printed and laminated with the help of the staff and volunteers.
